Round 2 (league phase) matches

The UEFA cup incorporates a mini-league stage at the second round of the competition for the first time this season. Some 40 teams have been grouped into eight leagues, with sides playing each other only once. The top three of each group go through to the third round, where they will be joined by the eight teams from the Champions' League who finished third in their own CL groups. Five days have been set aside for the competition, with each team playing two matches at home and two away, and having one day of rest.
