European Champions League winners Real Madrid return to the Club World Cup, now renamed the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, for the seventh time after winning the competition in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022, and finishing fourth in the pilot edition in 2000. The tournament, which takes place in Egypt, UAE and Qatar this year from 22 September to 18 December, includes the top clubs from all six of FIFA's regional federations, with the European champions entering at the final stage.
