First round matches

Espanyol and Sevilla qualified for the UEFA cup as Spain's fifth and sixth placed sides in the league, and with Spanish cup winners Betis playing in the Champions League, Osasuna will also be taking part as cup runners up. All will be trying to qualify for the second round, which will be played in a mini-league format once again this season. The first round draw takes place on 26th August. (01.07.05)
