Espanyol have a good chance
of going through to the league stage after a 1-1 draw at Teplice in their first
leg. Miguel Angel Lotina surprised everyone leaving Kameni on the bench and
giving a run out to Iraizoz in goal, and De la Peña was back in the
squad after being left out following a bust up with his manager, albeit not in
the starting line up which included five defenders.
With more games under their
belt this summer, the Czech side had the better of the first half, although
Luis García fired a shot just over the bar and Lopo hit the post shortly
before the break. Just three minutes after the restart though Jirsak got on the
end of Rilke's cross to open the scoring, and with his side in disarray the
coach turned to De la Peña. That did the trick, and the little man
weaved his magic before setting up Luis García for the equaliser near
the end. |
