Beat offside trap to run through and round keeper to score.
Espanyol beat Teplice 2-0 in
their second leg match to join Sevilla in the league stage. The Czech side
complained about the late kick-off time, but they had the first chance when
Masek forced a first class save out of Iraizoz, who once again replaced Kameni.
But the Spaniards came close when Luis García just failed to get on the
end of Riera's cross, and when De la Peña fired a long shot over the
bar.
Sabou gave the local fans a
fright after the restart when he got ahead of the defence to meet a long cross
but couldn't steer it under the bar. Otherwise though Espanyol were starting to
take command, and Juanfran was upset when the Turkish referee turned down his
penalty appeal after he was clearly tripped in the area.
A few minutes later though
the home side went ahead, Armando Sá's cross being controlled by De la
Peña who, with his back to goal, back-heeled the ball into the path of
Fredson for him to run it in to the net. Zabaleta had another penalty appeal
turned down when he was fouled by Rada, but with the game in injury time late
substitute Jofre put the game beyond doubt after picking up a long ball from
Luis García to round the keeper and score. |
