Round 2
(league phase) matches
The UEFA cup incorporates a
mini-league stage at the second round of the competition once again this
season. Some 40 teams have been grouped into eight leagues, with sides playing
each other only once. The top three of each group go through to the third
round, where they will be joined by the eight teams from the Champions' League
who finished third in their own CL groups. Five days have been set aside for
the competition, with each team playing two matches at home and two away, and
having one day of rest. Details of the full draw and the fixtures involving the
two remaining Spanish clubs are set out below, and current league tables can be
seen by clicking on the group name once the competition begins.
