Salamanca picked up another
point at Badajoz to hold on to their six point lead at the top, coming back
from two goals down to draw with goals from Sandro and Quique Martín in
the last seven minutes of the game. Levante held on to second spot after a
goalless draw with Compostela. They lead Extremadura on goal average after the
third placed team recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory against Albacete. Sporting
move up to fourth with the same result against Leganés, and they are
followed by the two Canary Island teams, Las Palmas and Tenerife. Toledo are
still bottom, although they recorded their second win in a row against teams
from Extremadura to move within two points of the next to bottom teams,
Leganés and Atlético Madrid B. As the fate of Logroñes
looks more and more certain, with the club entering into the first stages of
liquidation, their team go from strength to strength. Having eliminated Real
Sociedad and beaten Oviedo in the cup, they are climbing up the league, winning
2-5 at Eibar with a hat-trick from Manel, who has been linked with an imminent
move to Espanyol.
