Málaga 4 - Oviedo 0
Málaga:
Contreras; Rojas, Fernando Sanz, Bravo, Valcarce; Rufete, De los
Santos, Movilla, Agostinho; Catanha, Edgar. 4-4-2. Oviedo:
Esteban; Danjou, Bango, Boris; Eskurza, Onopko, Rabarivony; Pompei,
Dubovsky, Losada; Dely Valdés. 3-3-3-1.
A hat-trick from leading
striker Catanha finished off a poor Oviedo side who may be another
club thinking of a change of manager. Luis Aragonés played
straight into the hands of his old friend Joaquim Peiró, and
his team were unable to stop Málaga's constant attacks down the
wings. The first of Catanha's goals came from the left, Agostinho's
cross being met by the Brazilian's shaved head, and the second came
from Rufete's cross from the right just before half time. Aragonés
replaced both wing backs Rabarivony (still suffering from a stomach
bug) and Ezkurza with Amieva and Iván Iglesias at half time,
but it didn't stop the Andalucian attacks. Two more goals came in a
space of two minutes on the hour mark, the first from Movilla (another
shaven head) who dribbled through the middle of the defence after
finding himself without support, and the last from Catanha again from
close range. Málaga climb further away from trouble, but Oviedo
find themselves solidly ensconced in the relegation zone and need to
find a new formula to get them back on track.
Alavés vs Racing
Santander
Referee Japon Sevilla suspended
the match an hour before kick off due to snow, and the fixture is to
be rearranged at a later date. The scouts who came from all over
Europe to see Salva ended up throwing snowballs at each other. Three
fans were injured in incidents in Vitoria between rival groups of
supporters. |
