The Copa del Rey final will take place in May at a venue still to be decided, with the grounds of Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Valencia as front runners for the venue. The finalists will be Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, the two teams who have won the cup the most times, with 25 and 23 titles respectively. They have met already on seven occasions, the last time back in 2009 when Barcelona won 4-1, and with that the Catalans have a 4-3 advantage over their rivals. The date set is provisionally 20th May, although if Guardiola's side reach the Champions League final everything will be postponed to the 25th. (09.02.12)
After much debate, it was decided that the cup final will take place in Atlético Madrid's Calderón stadium on 25th May. (06.03.12)
Guardiola's reign at Barcelona ended with another trophy after his side beat Athletic Bilbao 0-3 in the Spanish cup final! The contest was over with less than half an hour on the clock, Pedro scoring twice and Messi getting one in between, and after that they controlled the game right through to the final whistle.
