The higher ranked of the two Spanish sides enters the competition at this point, and will play a side qualifying out of the first round fixtures Bielorussia 1 v Czech Republic 3, and Ireland 1 v Belgium 2. If the other Spanish side wins through from the second round, they will play a team from Croatia, Slovakia, Cyprus or Romania, with the first leg at home. (27.04.05)

After today's draw, Valencia will play against one of Bohemians (Ireland), Gent (Belgium), Neman Grodno (Bielorussia) or Zlin (Czech Republic). (07.06.05)

Valencia's opponents will be Gent, who beat Zlin in the second round. Deportivo will join them after they won through, and they will face Croatia's Slaven. Athletic Bilbao are out though after they lost on penalties to Cluj. (10.07.05)
