Another title for Spain's prolific youngsters, Julen Lopetegui's side retaining the under 21 European championship after a 4-2 victory over Italy. The coach gave top scorer Morata the number nine shirt ahead of Rodrigo, and the change paid off early on when the Real Madrid striker crossed in for Thiago to head the opener.

Immobile equalized just four minutes later after getting behind the defence to control Rossi's long pass and lob De Gea, the first goal the Manchester United keeper has let in all tournament, and Bardi and De Gea both had to be at their best to keep out Morata and Florenzi a few minutes later.

With half an hour gone though Thiago restored the lead, controlling Koke's chipped pass on his chest before forcing a shot past the keeper, and the Barcelona midfielder completed a first half hat-trick from the penalty spot after Donati tripped Tello in the area.

Thiago could even have had a fourth had Bardi not kept him out at the start of the second half, but Spain did go further ahead midway through the second half, tournament MVP Isco converting a second penalty after Montoya was brought down as he advanced in to the area.

Borini got another one back for Italy with ten minutes to go to restore a bit of pride, but it was another trophy for the cabinet, and with more talent flowing through at under 19 and under 20 levels, it looks like the show is going to go on for some time to come!
