Spain finished second in their group and will have to take part in a play-off round. They were drawn against Slovakia, with ties to take place on 12th and 16th November. (14.10.05)
Luis Aragonés's side thrashed Slovakia 5-1 in the first leg in Madrid, and played out a comfortable 1-1 draw in the return four days later to qualify for the World Cup finals. (16.11.05)
