All eyes were on the Bernabeu stadium this Sunday, where the big question was whether Mourinho would risk keeping Iker Casillas on the bench in front of his home crowd. The coach stuck to his guns in the end, although his replacement Adán only lasted six minutes before he got himself sent off, and Casillas did come on in the end. The World's best keeper did let in three though, and Caballero therefore distances him still further from his closest rivals. It was a high scoring opener to the new year however, with 33 goals in all, and only three clean sheeters, Víctor Valdés (Barcelona), Diego López (Sevilla), and Aranzubia (Deportivo), who was brought back by new coach Domnigos Paciencia in place of Lux.
