The
top two goalminders met this week, with Molina catching up a couple of points
on Cañizares thanks to two very late goals by his side. Both are well
ahead of the rest of the pack though, with their closest rival Leo Franco being
hit by two Javi Moreno strikes at the end of their game to make a bit of a mess
of his statistics. Juanmi also let in two against Osasuna, and last year's best
keeper (in Soccer-Spain's records at least) Iker Casillas moved up the table
with a clean sheet against Oviedo. His number two in the Spanish side, Esteban,
was at the other end and could do nothing about a four goal pasting that leaves
him totally out of the running this year. Clean sheets too for López
Vallejo, Lafuente, Contreras and Nacho González helped them improve
their positions in the table, and Kasey Keller, now back in the Rayo league
side, also put up a good performance to keep out the Numancia forwards. Real
Sociedad's Alberto also comes in to the chart after playing enough games to
qualify, although he let in two as his team lost to Athletic Bilbao in the
Basque derby for the first time in 15 games. At least he is doing better than
Asper, who let in 18 in 6 games before losing his place to the local boy.
