Herrera keeps his place at the top despite letting in two
goals as his two closest rivals Cañizares and Lopetegui also get hit for
a pair apiece in the Valencia Rayo match. Mora was the keeper who came off best
this weekend, his clean sheet for Espanyol taking him level with
Cañizares in second place. Molina also put himself back in the running
after stopping the Zaragoza forwards from scoring, and Esteban once again
showed why he is in Camacho's squad with another fine display for Oviedo. Clean
sheets too for Contreras and Nuno, who come in to the table this week, and also
for Racing's Ceballos. Two of the top keepers were left out of their teams this
week, with Valladolid's Ricardo being dropped for Bizzarri to make his debut,
and Villarreal's López Vallejo pulling out at the last minute with a
back problem. Nacho González saw his good run in the Las Palmas goal
come to an end after losing his cool with referee Pérez Lasa and getting
sent off for his troubles. González slid with the ball in his hands on a
wet pitch and the referee ruled he had carried it out of the area. The keeper
threw the ball to the ground in protest and raised his voice, not a good thing
to do over here. Cicovic replaced him for the rest of the game.
