Goalkeepers suffered this week, with only four of the 20,
Herrera, Cañizares, Dutruel and Nacho González of Las Palmas,
keeping clean sheets. Ricardo keeps his lead at the top despite letting one in,
but he is now followed by three players a goal behind, Lopetegui, Herrera and
Cañizares. Dutruel let in a silly goal against Leeds in the Champions
League, but he has the consolation of knowing he kept out the Real Madrid
forwards on Saturday. He moves up to join Molina in fifth place in the table.
Mora survived the second half of the match postponed from day 4 against Real
Sociedad without letting in any more, and he returns to the table again.
Numancia's Nuñez let in four against Racing, including two penalties,
and he drops out, being replaced by Nuno of Osasuna. Asper got hit for four
more, making it ten in eight days, and his manager Javier Clemente paid the
ultimate price of failure. Clemente's replacement Periko Alonso will probably
bring back Alberto between the sticks, but he may be better off buying some
wooden planks and nailing them in front of goal, the way his defence are
playing right now. (22.10.00) |
