Much debate this week about whether Neymar’s late goal at Real Sociedad should have stood or not. With the game coming to an end the striker hooked the ball away from keeper Rulli as he threw it up in the action of booting it clear, but referee Del Cerro Grande ruled out the subsequent goal and booked Neymar for the action. Was it legal or not? A similar incident by Espanyol’s Tamudo in the year 2000 cup final was allowed to stand though, and the keeper had clearly let go of the ball when Neymar struck. Whatever the case however the goal was disallowed, and Barça were beaten 1-0. (08.01.15)
