Referees featured a lot this
weekend. On Saturday Iturralde González awarded a hotly disputed penalty
to Barcelona to spark off a comeback against Betis, whereas Megía Davila
didn't want to know when Osasuna's Miguel Flaño brought down Deportivo's
Valerón in the area.
And the following day it
continued, Mateu Lahoz ruling out a second goal by Real Madrid's Huntelaar for
a non-existent offside, and Turienzo Alvarez leaving Espanyol with ten men
against Sevilla after showing a very rigorous second yellow card to Lola.
Elsewhere Alvarez Izquierdo
didn't spot Athletic Bilbao keeper bringing down Recreativo's Colunga as he
advanced in to the area, and Muñiz Fernández went a bit over the
top showing three red cards in the match between Almería and Valladolid.
Other than that our men-in-black had a pretty uneventful weekend! (17.02.09)
