Málaga's Eliseu has
been out of luck this season, and after having his red card from last week
cancelled on appeal, he got another one this weekend. This time it was after
catching Almería's Juanma Ortíz with a flailing arm midway
through the first half as they battled for a loose ball, which didn't seem
really deliberate, but in any case the referee sent him off. Only two other red
cards apart from that, Zaragoza's Jarosik the first to go after giving away a
penalty on Sporting's Barral early in the second half of their match on
Saturday, and Hércules midfielder Abel Aguilar getting his marching
orders late on for a hard tackle on Getafe's Boateng on Sunday. After six games
we already have the first two players suspended for picking up five bookings to
date, Sporting's Botía and Osasuna's Puñal. Early candidates for
our "Villains" award this year? (06.10.10) |
