Villains

Five more red cards in the next to last day of the season, including two near the end of the game between Racing and Osasuna when Oscar Serrano and Moha were both shown their second yellow cards after a scuffle. Celta substitute Jesús Perera wasn't even on the park when he was shown a red card for insulting an official early in the game at Real Sociedad, and Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos got his marching orders for the fourth time this season after he blocked Javi Venta's shot with his forearms at close range. It was too much for one of Madrid's coaching staff Sánchez Maqueda, who was also sent off for telling the referee what he thought of his mother.

Another thirteen players will miss the last match of the season after completing the next cycle of yellow cards, including Atlético's Luccin, who picked up his fifteenth and is now in line for his first "Villains" award after finishing second four seasons ago. Bezares (Cádiz), Capdevila (Deportivo), Doni (Mallorca) and last year's winner Pablo García (Real Madrid) were all given their tenth bookings, and Costanzo (Alavés), Miguel Angel and Robert (Betis), Vivar Dorado (Getafe), Pinillos and Antoñito (Racing), Robinho (Real Madrid) and Mikel Alonso (Real Sociedad) all received their fifth. PS Sergio Ramos's red card was downgraded to a yellow after the disciplinary committee decided that it was partly accidental, and he will be able to play the last match at Sevilla. Sánchez Maqueda was given a two match ban though as this was the not the first time he had questioned the parenthood of a referee.
