Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos
was shown the red card for the third time this season, and is already on for a
place in the club's record books. The young defender turned midfielder picked
up two bookings again this weekend in the match against Real Sociedad to add to
a previous one in the league and one in the Champions League. The club though
are expected to appeal as at least one of the yellow cards was probably
unmerited.
Ramos was joined in the bath
later in the game by Real Sociedad's Garitano, who also picked up two cautions.
Betis midfielder Rivera was also sent off for a second bookable offence in the
match against Cádiz, and Zaragoza keeper César was shown a
straight red card for handling outside of the area shortly before the interval
in his side's fixture with Sevilla. And Racing Santander substitute David
Aganzo (who was once on the books of Real Madrid) only lasted 14 minutes before
he got his marching orders after a flying elbow caught Barcelona's
Márquez in the face.
Atlético Madrid
manager Carlos Bianchi will have to make some changes next weekend after three
of his players (Fernando Torres, Luccin and Pablo) all picked up their fifth
bookings of the season. They will be joined in the stands by Gaspar
(Alavés), Sergio (Celta) and Ayoze (Racing), all of whom also reached
the five yellow card threshold last weekend. (29.11.05) |
