Everybody was on good
behaviour on the opening day of the season, with not one red card throughout
the weekend. The same was true as well for the Spanish Supercup which normally
produces a sending off or two over the two legs, and it looks like the trend
seen last season is continuing. A few players had to sit out the opening match
of the new campaign after picking up suspensions at the end of last season,
including Real Madrid's new signing Pablo García, who got sent off in
the cup final playing for Osasuna. Last year's top villain misses one league
game and also the first match in the cup after also picking up a fifth yellow
card in that competition. (30.08.05) |
