A
fairly quiet day for villains, with only two red cards. Málaga's Roteta
got his marching orders for the first time ever after making a rude comment to
the linesman, who immediately called over the referee and reported him, and
Danjou was rather harshly sent off for a second bookable offence after the
referee ruled he had handled in the penalty area. Our leading villain Arzeno
was resting again this week, but the disciplinary committee took pity on
Spain's latest international Téllez and allowed him to play after
banning him for two games and then pardoning one of them. He was unlucky not to
make his debut for Spain midweek - he was waiting to come on when the referee
blew his whistle for full time - and presumably took it out on the Oviedo
defence at the weekend, picking up another yellow card. Real Madrid's Luis Figo
made it a double this week, entering both the Pichichi and the Villains' charts
at the same time, a feat so far only achieved by Catanha and Luis Enrique. His
team mate Hierro also comes in as he completed his second cycle of five yellow
cards, and he is joined by ten others who should be banned next weekend,
including Mallorca's Engonga and Valladolid's Torres Gómez.
