Cultural Leonesa are the second team to be promoted to the second division after they beat Barcelona B 2-1 in their group champions play-off! The León based side started with a big advantage after their 0-2 victory in the first leg, but Alfaro got one back for the visitors after Dani Romero headed the ball on with only six minutes on the clock. However Colinas volleyed in a cross from the right to level the scores at the start of the second half, and Gallar fired home a direct free kick a few minutes later to take his side up for the first time in 42 years. Barça B go in to the general play-off though, where they will meet Cartagena, who won 0-2 at Alcoyano with second half goals from Sergio Jiménez and Jesús Alfaro. As things worked out, no draw is necessary for the next round, Albacete’s opponents being the other fourth placed team who won through, Atlético Baleares. The Mallorca based side beat Toledo 1-2 to build on their 1-0 victory from a week ago, second half strikes by Julio and Luciano overturning the early opener from Canario.
Racing Santander had no problems seeing off Rayo Majadahonda, goals after the break from Abdón Prats and Dani Aquino (2) giving them a 3-0 win on the night, and a 6-1 aggregate scoreline. They will meet Villanovense, who beat Fuenlabrada 0-1 for the second time, both thanks to Jesús Rubio penalties. Real Murcia meanwhile will face Valencia Mestalla after they drew 1-1 against Pontevedra, Eneko giving the visitors hope of overturning a 1-3 result from the first leg, but Sergi Guardiola equalizing a few minutes later to put the result beyond the reach of the Galicians. Elsewhere the “play-outs” took place to avoid relegation to the regional third division, San Sebastian de los Reyes saving themselves after winning a penalty shoot out against Atlético Levante, and Burgos also staying up after a 1-2 victory at Linares. Lorca FC have been promoted to the second division for the first time in their brief history after drawing 0-0 at home to Albacete in their group champions play-off! After a 1-1 draw in the Carlos Belmonte stadium, the visitors needed to score. However they were unable to find the way past Dorronsoro, and only a second half penalty save by Tomeu Nadal from Abel Gómez prevented David Vidal’s team from winning on the night. Albacete have a second bite at the cherry though, and they will go through to the next round of the general play-offs for the remaining two promotion spots. Only one other match on Saturday, Valencia Mestalla beating Celta B 3-1 in the battle between the two reserve sides to go through to the next stage. Borja Iglesias pegged back the Ches’ one goal advantage from the first leg early on, but Iván Zotko made it all square on the night a few minutes later, and Rafa Mir and Nacho Vidal scored two more in the last twenty minutes to make it 6-3 on aggregate.
