Athletic Bilbao beat Málaga 1-0 on Sunday afternoon to move back up to seventh. Charles headed an early chance wide, but for the rest of the first half the locals were on top, Kameni saving from Susaeta and Balenziaga, and Lekue, Yeray and Raúl García all failing to find the target. Iraizoz had to keep out a header from Jonny after the interval, but Raúl García went close a couple of times before Camacho deflected a shot from Williams on to the post with his arm, Raúl Garcíaconverting the resulting spot kick. Camacho and Charles tried their luck after that, but it was another defeat for the Andalusians, and coach Gato Romero may be on his way out very soon.
