Granada beat Alavés 2-1 on Wednesday evening, a third home win in a row taking the Andalusians to within two points of escaping the drop zone. Lucas Alcaráz’s side went ahead with a strike by Wakaso following a long throw-in from Héctor, and a few minutes in to the second half the action was repeated, this time Isaac Cuenca the scorer. Some four minutes later though Camarasa scrambled the ball past Ochoa after the keeper saved his first header from an Oscar Romero cross, and although Adrián Ramos hit the bar for the locals, Camarasa should have saved a point for the visitors had referee Iglesias Villanueva not ruled out his strike for a non-existent offside. Nerves frayed after that, and Katai and Alexis were both sent off by Iglesias in injury time.
