Betis and Valencia drew 0-0 in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, the result keeping the hosts four points above their oponents in the lower reaches of the table. The Andalusians started well, Rubén Castro firing a long shot against the crossbar, and Gayà clearing an effort from Alex Alegría off the line after keeper Diego Alves had gone AWOL. The Ches felt they should have had a penalty though when Pezzella blocked a shot from Montoya with his arm before the interval. However other than a late effort from Cancelo which Adán kept out, the locals were on top, Rubén Pardo, Petros and Rubén Castro all failing to convert chances in the second half.
