Seventh placed Málaga move six points clear of the teams below them, although they will be feeling that they could have opened up an even bigger gap after they were held to a late 1-1 draw by Real Sociedad. Juanmi had a headed goal ruled out for a marginal offside and Samuel brought a good save out of Rulli in the opening minutes, but later in the first half Kameni had to save from Canales and Chory Castro, and Granero scuffed a shot wide when a rebound fell to him in front of goal. Soon after the restart though Recio headed the opener from a long Samu Castillejo free kick, and a few minutes later Rulli had to tip a dipping shot from Boka over the bar. However with seven minutes to go Rubén Pardo equalized with a low shot after Finnbogason laid the ball across, and there was little time for the locals to react.
