Deportivo are only a point above the bottom three after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Espanyol in this Sunday’s mid-day game, the Galicians having now gone six matches without a win. Both teams had chances in a lively first half, Oriol Riera and Fariña going close and Casilla having to save from Cavaleiro, and at the other end Fabricio turning a shot from Cañas around the post and Caicedo having a strike ruled out as Víctor Sánchez was offside in the build up. After the break Riera and Lucas Pérez failed to find the target and Cavaleiro came up against Casilla again, but with ten minutes to go Javi López hit the bar after Moreno headed on a Lucas Vázquez corner, and Arbilla tested Fabricio again with a well struck free kick before the final whistle.
