Espanyol and Málaga drew 2-2 in the last match on Saturday evening, a result which kept the visitors in mid-table, and left the Catalans still in next to bottom spot. Sergio Rodríguez’s team needed a result, and ex Espanyol keeper Kameni had to make saves from Víctor Sánchez and Sergio García before Caicedo picked up a García assist to put them in front early on. Camacho headed the equalizer soon after the interval from a Luis Alberto corner, but Stuani headed against the bar and he and Salva Sevilla brought further saves out of Kameni, and with two minutes to go Stuani headed in a wide Lucas Vázquez free kick to restore the lead. However with the local fans already celebrating what appeared to be a first victory, Duda stepped up in injury time to curl another free kick in to the net to save a point for the Andalusians.
