Sevilla are far from their best this season, but they at least started the new year with a 1-0 victory over Osasuna to take some of the pressure off coach Michel. The visitors started the game at the bottom of the table after results earlier in the day went against them, and Diego López was kept busy as the Pamplona based side had the better of the first half. Kike Sola had a strike ruled out soon after the restart for a questionable hand ball, but after that the Andalusians rallied, Negredo heading just over and Andrés doing well to keep out Kondogbia, Rakitic and Navas. Then with seven minutes to go Andrés turned a Kondogbia header for a corner, and after a long period of attack Reyes headed the ball back in to the area for Spahic to score what was to prove the winner, referee Del Cerro Grande turning down Osasuna's appeals that Reyes was in an offside position when he made the pass.
