Valladolid and Valencia cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw on Sunday lunchtime, a result which left both tied on 15 points, two below the European spots pending the rest of the day's games. The Ches had only picked up one point away from home all season, but Dani Parejo hit the bar with a free kick before Cissokho got on the end of another free kick from Guardado to head the opener in the fourteenth minute. Bueno hit the post at the other end before the break, but after the restart half-time substitute Soldado saw a volley deflected for a corner by Peña, and then had a strike ruled out for offside. However twenty minutes in to the second half Omar Ramos fell under a challenge from Cissokho, and the referee awarded a penalty to the locals and showed a red card to the full back. Víctor Pérez made no mistake from the resulting spot kick, and that was how it ended.
