Mallorca are only four points off the top six after a convincing 4-0 win over old enemy Villarreal. The islanders were particularly motivated against the team who replaced them in the Europe League last year, and Ramis and Nunes went close before Víctor Casadesús got on the end of Chori Castro's free kick to head the first shortly before half time. Martí headed a second following another Chori Castro free kick a few minutes in to the second half, and Castro was again instrumental in the next two goals, the first a through ball for Casadesús to score his second of the day, and the second a corner two minutes later which Nunes headed back past Diego López. The defeat left Villarreal once again just one place above the relegation spots.
