Racing Santander climbed out of the relegation spots after a 1-0 victory against bottom club Zaragoza on Saturday evening. Manolo Jiménez was in charge for the first time for the visitors after taking over recently from Javier Aguirre, but his team hardly got going in a first half without too much action. Shortly before the break though Roberto had to tip a dipping shot from Colsa over the bar, and from the resulting Diop corner Bernardo ran in to headwhat was to prove the winning goal. The Maños could have saved a point in the end though had Oriol Riera's shot not come back off the crossbar later on.
