Sabadell and Murcia both won promotion to the second division last weekend, but they still had to play off for the honorary title of second division B champions. And Sabadell have the slight advantage going in to the second leg after a 1-0 victory in the Nova Creu Alta stadium on Saturday evening. The heavy rain in Catalunya meant that the crowd was less than expected, but those that did turn up saw Isaac give their team the victory with a strike some five minutes before the final whistle. Both semi-final matches involving group champions ended without goals, leaving everything to be decided in next week's return legs. Lugo held Alavés to a 0-0 draw in the Mendizorroza stadium, even though the home side dominated for much of the game, with Oscar Martínez in particular going close before the break. The best chance though fell to Ivan González late on, but the forward failed to beat local keeper Dituro. Alcoyano and Eibar also drew 0-0 with local keeper Maestro having to make a couple of important saves early on, and Paco Esteban having a shot cleared off the line at the other end by Añibarro after the restart.
Guadalajara are well on the way to a place in one of the finals after beating Sevilla Atlético 4-1. Ernesto gave the locals an early lead from the penalty spot after Samuel brought down Iván Moreno, and although Jairo headed an equaliser before the break, Juanjo restored the lead from Ernesto's free kick two minutes after the restart. Moreno and Anibal added two more in the next quarter of an hour, but even though Samuel was sent off for a second booking the visitors managed to hold their opponents at bay after that. Mirandés also have the edge over Badalona after a 1-0 victory in their home town of Miranda de Ebro. They left it late though, Lambarri heading the winner from Garmendia's cross in the second minute of injury time. (05.06.11)
