Osasuna and Almería shared the points in an at times bad tempered goal-less draw. The early chances fell to the visitors, with Piatti in particular going close a couple of times. But after that the Pamplona based side took over, with Diego Alves doing well to save from Aranda before the break. As the clock ran down though the frustration started to show through, with Pandiani and Sergio firing efforts over the top, and tackles going in harder and harder. In the end something had to give, and Carlos García earned himself a late red card for a rash challenge on Pandiani. The best that either side can say is that they started the season with a point, and they now have a couple of weeks to iron out all the flaws.
