Deportivo and Zaragoza shared the points in a dull match in which neither side really got out of their pre-season stupor. If anything the visitors had the better of the first half, with Marco Pérez and Jorge López both bringing saves out of Manu, who was standing in for the injured Aranzubia. After the restart Riki and Guardado both had timid attempts at goal, but the best chance of all fell to Marco Pérez, the Colombian striker somehow managing to clear the ball rather than find the target when set up just a yard or two in front of goal late on. The local fans didn't really wake up though until the introduction of their ex player Lafita (who left under controversial circumstances) gave them something to shout about. Both sides will be thankful though for the point, and also for the fact that they now have two weeks to sort things out before their next game.
