Sevilla are in danger of losing fourth spot after a 2-0 defeat at Espanyol in the last match on Saturday evening. The Andalusians were licking their wounds after being knocked out of this season's Champions League midweek, and they went behind in the seventh minute when Osvaldo got on the end of a Marqués cross to head past Palop. Callejón should have added to the lead soon afterwards when he shot wide with the goal at his mercy, but keeper Cristian Alvarez had to save from an Escudé header to keep his side ahead at the break. Midway through the second half though Osvaldo got his second of the night after a quick passing move to take the Catalans clear of the danger zone.
