Mallorca moved above Deportivo to fifth after a 1-2 victory at Valladolid. The Islanders had the better of the first half, with Chori Castro hitting the post, Víctor having a goal disallowed and Aduríz seeing another effort saved by Villar. But four minutes after the restart they went behind when Alberto Bueno turned in Keko's cross for his first goal of the season. César Arzo had a goal ruled out for offside soon afterwards, but Rubén levelled the scores with a header from a Julio Alvarez corner, and Alvarez got the winner himself after latching on to Webó's pass with a few minutes to go. Onésimo's side stay in eighteenth spot, now four points away from safety.
