Villarreal were unable to make it six straight home wins in a row after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Almería on Saturday evening. Nilmar headed them in to the lead from Cazorla's cross five minutes before the interval. But Iván Marcano gave away a penalty on substitute Goitom which Corona converted midway through the second half, and Villarreal's challenge ended when Marcano was sent off for a second bookable offence with seven minutes to go.
