Xerez moved back off the bottom of the table after the Andalusians held Valladolid to a 0-0 draw. Cuco Ziganda's side have yet to score a single goal away from home, although they did go close with an overhead kick from Bermejo near to half time.
The locals replied with an equally spectacular effort "a la scorpion" from Manucho, and Renan did well to keep out a charge from Diego Castro, but otherwise neither keeper was particularly troubled.
The game ended with a minor controversy though when David Prieto was sent off by Velasco Carballo for a second yellow card for a foul which was actually committed by Bermejo, and the referee also produced red cards for both managers for protesting.
