Espanyol beat Málaga 2-1 on Wednesday evening to record their first ever official win in the new Cornellà stadium, and their second victory in a row in the league.
Things didn't look so good for the Catalans at the beginning, the visitors dominating the early minutes before Fernando's deflected shot gave the Andalusians a half time lead. And it could have been more when Fernando's cross came back off the bar and then Obinna tested Kameni soon after the restart.
However Sahar headed the equaliser from Coro's cross a few minutes later, entering the history books as the first Espanyol player to score in the new ground. And with ten minutes to go Iván Alonso picked up a pass from fellow substitute Nakamura and turned a defender before striking an angled shot past Munúa to win the match.
