Tenerife won their first home match since returning to the top flight against an Osasuna side who ended the game with nine men. Monreal was sent off early in the second half after picking up two yellow cards in a minute, and Nino put the Canary Islanders ahead almost immediately following a set-piece free kick. Pandiani levelled the scores with a header from a corner, but Ricardo restored the lead with an impressive shot, and Nekounam was shown a red card following a goal mouth incident with twenty minutes left on the clock.
