Real Madrid are up to second after they beat Espanyol 0-3 in the first official match in their new Cornellà stadium. Pellegrini rested some of his key players after the gruelling international break, but Granero picked up a return pass from Kaká to open the scoring a few minutes before half time. Kaká set up Guti for a second with a quarter of an hour to go, and substitute Cristian Ronaldo wrapped things up with a clever shot through the legs of Kameni in injury time.
