Two of La Liga's newly promoted teams met in the second match on Saturday evening, with Zaragoza eventually beating Tenerife 1-0.
The visitors had the better chances, withRrichi, Nino and Alfaro all going close before the break.
But in the end Arizmendi got the winner after good work by substitute Ander Herrera with twenty minutes to go, the striker poking the ball past Aragoneses after the keeper had beaten away his first shot.
Nino almost saved a point in injury time with a shot which Carrizo kept out, but it wouldn't have counted anyway as the forward was yellow carded for controlling the ball with his hand.
A promising start for both teams though, and on this performance both clubs should be able to consolidate themselves back in the top flight once again. .
