A remarkable match in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Tuesday evening, where Real Madrid beat neighbours Getafe 3-2 in the last minute to move to within three points of leaders Barcelona pending their game on Wednesday. Soldado headed the first against his old club from a cross by another ex Castilla player Granero in the tenth minute Higuaín rounded Cata Díaz to level the scores though on the stroke of half time, and Stojkovic had to be at his best to keep out Huntelaar and Higuaín after the break.
Getafe themselves had their own chances though, and with six minutes to go Albín restored the lead after Granero set him up. Guti equalised two minutes later with a well-struck free kick, but Getafe should have scored again from the penalty spot after Pepe fouled Casquero, the defender losing it completely and getting himself sent off for a vicious kick on his opponent as he lay on the ground. Casquero chipped a soft penalty straight at Casillas though, and with the game in injury time Higuaín ran through to score the winner.
