Down at the bottom of the table, bottom two Numancia and Espanyol did themselves no favours in a match which ended 0-0. Despite the result there were several chances, Juan Pablo saving an Iván Alonso header and Kameni keeping out Goiria early on.
The visitors thought themselves hard done by though after referee Mejuto González waved away appeals for hand ball when Juan Carlos Moreno blocked an effort from Tamudo on the line with his arm, and then disallowed a goal from Sergio Sánchez for what he considered was a previous foul by Moisés.
Tamudo and Alonso both had penalty claims turned down after the restart, and Kameni had to be on his toes to save a header from Aranda. Moisés headed wide and Juan Pablo saved from Jarque and then Alonso at the other end, but the game ended soon afterwards. Results from other grounds added to the disappointment of the fans, and both teams are now a long way from safety.
