Real Madrid stay in touch with leaders Barcelona after a 0-1 win at Málaga on Saturday. The game got off to a dull start, the best chance falling to Adrián before the break. But just four minutes after the restart Higuaín picked up the ball in the centre circle and ran on past Weligton to strike an angled shot across Goitia.

Van der Vaart came close to a second with a chip over the bar soon afterwards, but Adrián went close again and Baha brought a good save out of Casillas. Madrid controlled the game after that though, Goitia having to save from Van der Vaart, Sergio Ramos and Higuaín, and Higuaín just rolling a shot past the far post near the end. Three more points, which keeps them six behind Barça in the table.
