Goals galore at the Riazor stadium, where Deportivo beat Racing Santander 5-3 to move up to sixth in the table. Jonathan Pereira put the Cantabrians ahead with only twenty seconds on the clock after picking up a return pass from Zigic. And although Juan Rodríguez equalised, Zigic restored the lead before the break.

Riki equalised again though soon after the restart, and from then on it was all Depor. Lafita gave the Galicians the lead with a goal "a la pin-ball" after his first shot came back off a defender, and Riki got his second of the night after a pinpoint pass from Valerón. And Verdú made it five with a header which deflected in off Valera to wrap things up with a quarter of the match still remaining.

Berrocal completed the scoreline with a third goal for the visitors later on, but by then the crowd had lost count. More goals in a day in La Coruña than most of the fans had seen all season.
