Espanyol's new coach Pochettino appears to be getting results, and after the 0-0 cup draw against Barcelona, his side took a point in a 1-1 draw at Valladolid.

Goitom put the locals ahead a few minutes before the interval, volleying a shot past Kameni on the far post from Sesma's corner. And the visiting keeper had to be on his toes to save from Pedro León and Sesma after the break.

Román brought a good save out of Villar at the other end though, and with twelve minutes to go Sergio Sánchez made it all square with a header from Luis García's corner. Still a long way to go, but the signs are promising.
